2018 IS 3T-in-3A

Dear friends and colleagues,

It is a great pleasure and an honor to extend to you a warm invitation to attend the 8th International Symposium on InfoComm & Mechatronics Technology in Bio-Medical & Healthcare Applications (IS 3T-in-3A), to be held on November 21-24, 2018 at Chang Gung University, Taiwan. This is an international platform for exchanging cross-disciplinary technologies of information, communication, and mechatronics for the applications of biology, medicine, and healthcare. As such, the symposium includes not only technical seminars but also plenty of opportunities for the participants from academia, research institutions, and companies to interact with each other.

Along to the prior successful organization of IS 3T-in-3A at Lijiang, Yunnan (2010), Nishi Chiba (2012), Taoyuan (2013), Shanghai (2014), Chiba (2015), Singapore (2016), and Nanjing (2017), 2018 IS 3T-in-3A will be held at Chang Gung University, Taoyuan, Taiwan. This year, the symposium is organized by Chang Gung University, and technically co-sponsored by National University of Singapore, Chiba University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Southeast University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, and Singapore University of Technology and Design. The highlights of the symposium include distinguished lectures, keynote speeches, invited and interactive talks, and panel discussions. The Outstanding Student Paper Award will be presented to eligible authors of papers of the highest quality.

We welcome you to Taiwan and hope that this year’s conference will challenge and inspire you, and result in new knowledge, collaborations, and friendships.

Call for Paper

Authors are requested to submit a paper of ONE PAGE in length using the format provided. The submission must be in electronic (PDF) format. Hardcopy submissions will not be accepted.

Student Paper Awards

The objective of this award is to promote, recognize, and reward students from tertiary institutions for their quality research in the areas of InfoComm and mechatronics technologies for bio-Medical and healthcare applications.

A. Eligibility Criteria

1. Only ONE Student Paper Award (SPA) submission per student is allowed.
2. For consideration in the SPA, the student must be the ONLY student author and must be the FIRST author of the paper. The contribution from the other co-author(s) of the paper should be primarily advisory.
3. The student must register and present his/her paper in person during the conference.

B. Judging Criteria

The entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
Novelty/Originality: Technical contribution and significance (20%)
Timeliness/Relevance: Appropriateness, hot topic (20%)
Impact: Importance and advancement to knowledge in the related field (20%)
Industry: Commercialization, marketability (20%)
Presentation/Readability: Organization, graphics, grammar (20%)

C. Prizes

Award certificates will be presented to the winners during the symposium banquet.

At least one author of every accepted paper should have a Regular Registration no later than November 23 2018 to be presented at the conference and included in the proceedings. Please note that one regular registration will cover the publication of only one accepted paper.

1. A confirmation notice will be sent via email to all registrants only after full payment has been received. Please contact tina@mail.cgu.edu.tw if you do not receive any confirmation one week prior to the event.

2. Attendance will only be allowed upon full receipt of payment.

3. Registration fee refunds should be made in writing before November 1st 2018. Refunds will be subjected to an administrative charge of NTD$500 to be borne by the registrant. Bank charges that occur will be borne by the registrant. No refunds will be provided for cancellations or no shows after this date.
